ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Tryphena Wade is a multi-talented singer, actor, and dancer (for pay…) hailing from Columbus, OH. As a child, Tryphena dreamed of performing on Broadway stages. Her pursuit of that dream carried her to Washington, DC and Howard University where she earned her BFA in Theatre with a concentration in Musical Theatre. She began her career in DC and later moved to NYC to further pursue her dreams.

As a child, Tryphena entertained other dreams, dreams of far away places. She fantasized specifically about visiting Australia and Africa, not knowing the diversity of those places, just knowing that she felt a strong pull to travel. Thankfully, Tryphena’s career as a professional actor and singer have carried her across the world and back. She has performed throughout the U.S. and Canada, on cruise ships exploring Europe, Asia, and Africa, and again across North America and on Broadway in Disney’s The Lion King.

This love of seeing the world prompted her to start a blog, wedontsitoncouches.com, where she shares her personal travels and adventures in the hopes of encouraging others to take life by the horns and live fully, in spite of fear. Her catch phrase, “Fear Is Stupid“, has become a bit of a motto and a reminder to not let fear get in the way of pursuing one’s God-given passions. Tryphena has taken that phrase to the next level and created a line of hoodies, t-shirts, tank tops, and mugs bearing that important reminder.

Tryphena has also created a podcast which is the intersection of her two loves, travel and theatre. On a weekly basis, she chats with guests who share both these passions. The podcast can be heard on both iTunes and GooglePlay.

With all theses ventures under her belt, Tryphena is ecstatic to finally add this book to her growing list of accomplishments. The Heart Works has been a labor of love for a few years and she’s ecstatic to finally share this bit of vulnerability and creativity with all who read it.

Feel free to explore all that Tryphena has been working on at the links at the top of the page. And don’t forget to subscribe to this page to stay informed of the official release date of The Heart Works.
